Australia (Wallabies) played New Zealand (All Blacks) in the semifinal of the Rugby World Cup last night in Auckland, New Zealand. New Zealand's team, the All Blacks as they are called, is the number 1 ranked team in the world and Australia is ranked number 2. These two countries are huge rivals when it comes to rugby, so this was a huge game. The All Blacks are kind of like the Yankees of the rugby world, but they have not won the World Cup in 24 years. The All Blacks ended up winning 20-8 and they will play France in the final next Sunday night.
There was a big watch party at a place called Darling Harbour. They had big TVs set up for everyone to watch it. Here is a pic from that:
I watched the game at a bar and was surprised when the match began with the video below. Apparently the All Blacks do this pregame battle ritual before every game. It is called the Haka. It is pretty intense, check out the video:
